Setting milestones and deadlines
Mark the moments that matter — kickoff, design sign-off, launch — with milestones that surface on the project dashboard.
A milestone is a dated checkpoint, not a task. Use them for things like 'Design approved', 'Beta launched', 'Final invoice sent' — moments that close out a phase rather than represent ongoing work.
Create a milestone
- Open the project → Milestones tab → Add milestone.
- Name it (e.g. 'Design sign-off').
- Set a target date.
- Optionally link the tasks that block it — Mewayz checks if those tasks are done before letting you mark the milestone complete.
- Save. Milestones appear on the Gantt view as flag icons, and on the project dashboard as a progress bar.
Why milestones matter
Tasks tell the team what to do. Milestones tell stakeholders where the project is. Most agency clients only want to know about milestones — share the milestone view (Projects → Share → Client view) so they see progress without drowning in task detail.
Tie invoices to milestones — agency tip: bill 30% on kickoff, 30% at design sign-off, 40% at launch. Configure under Project settings → Billing.
